FAQ'S
Q: What is the TRAILSTIX and how is it different from all other scent applicators?
A: I made the TRAILSTIX for my own use to target older-age class bucks. It was never inteded to be patented, marketed or sold. Through a long story and series of events all of this came to be because of two key factors. First and formost, it works. It is the only self-sustaining scent application of it's kind. It doesn't take a salesman to sell it. Here's what it does, as opposed to what other scent dispersal products do. This is how much scent it takes to accomplish this effectively, this is how much scent the TRAILSTIX can use effectively. Nothing can come close to what this product can do. No other product can compare with it's multitasking capacities. It's priced to sell in volume. I want every bowhunter to at least try it out once. People will kill deer that they probably wouldn't have, without it. That's really the bottom line.
It's easy to understand the philosophies behind it's instructions and intended use. Leaving a scent trail using an estrus type scent as an attractant, or using a cover-type scent for human odor, is an added advantage. There are no guarantees in bowhunting. Success is always based on percentages and advantages. If you're doing the right things in the right places, most of the time, your success rates will soar far higher than those that aren't. The questions you must ask yoursef are these:
Is the scent trail I'm leaving getting stronger or weaker?
If it's getting weaker, how much more scent does it take to make it intensify?
Is it more critical where I start my trail, or where it ends at my stand?
If a big buck cuts my trail, is he going to come towards me or away from me?
These are the questions that originated the TRAILSTIX. The only guarantees I can give are these: There is no substitute or greater advantage than a good stand location. Bucks will always follow estrus scent trails that intensify. The more concentrated your scent deposit is, the longer it will take to evaporate. With the TRAILSTIX, the freshest, most concentrated scent will always be where you stop using it. It will never hurt your setup, it will only make it better.
I am relying on feedback from other bowhunters for more questions to answer. The main questions I would have, I've already answered. Here are some more "troubleshooting" questions that may come up.
Q: If Im' hunting in below freezing temperatures, will my liquid freeze inside of the TRAILSTIX?
A: Eventually, yes. If you leave it in the back of your truck overnight, always (I only made that mistake once). Hot Hands or similar chemical heat activated packets will keep unfrozen liquid from freezing by taping them above the applicator tip on the lower tube section. If it's frozen solid, put Plan B into effect (it takes about one hour at room temperature to thaw it enough to disperse scent).
Q: What brands of scent do you use in your TRAILSTIX?
A: I don't want to give specific brand names because I can't honestly say I've tried them all. What I can say is that there is a day and night difference between brands and even the process in which they're collected. That usually means you get what you pay for, and rightfully so. I would rather spend the same amount on 5 bottles of quality scent than on twenty bottles of "stained ammonia". I can justify this by using my TRAILSTIX.
